OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. How to Enter the Contest:
a. The Pay Your Bills contest will begin on Monday, October 6, 2008 at approximately 7:00 AM Central time (CT) on Friday, November 28, 2008 at approximately 5:30 PM CT or when a total of $40,000 has been paid out, which ever comes first.
b. To participate in the contest, contestants must provide a copy of any outstanding bill to KKHH. Contestants can either deliver a copy of the bill in person to the KKHH studios during business hours, mail a copy of the bill to 24 Greenway Plaza, Suite 1900, Houston, Texas 77046, email a scanned version of the bill to PayYourBills@HOT957.com or fax a copy of the bill to 713-881-5950. All personal information and account numbers must be redacted from the bills, except for entrant’s name, address, and amount owed. Bills must be in the range of $50.00 - $1,500 to be eligible. Any bill that does not comply with these criteria will not be eligible and will be discarded.
c. Entries must be received in person by close of business on November 25, 2008 at 1 pm CT. Deadline for fax and email entries is November 25, 2008 at 1 pm CT. Mail entries must be postmarked by November 24, 2008 and received by November 25, 2008 at 1 pm CT to be eligible.
d. Email entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. For purposes of these official rules, “receipt” of an email entry occurs when the KKHH web servers record the entry information. Any automated computer receipt (such as one confirming delivery of the e-mail) does not constitute proof of actual receipt for purposes of these official rules. KKHH’s computer is the official time keeping device for this contest. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. Only one email entry per person and one email entry per email address is permitted. KKHH is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
e. For entries by mail, KKHH is not responsible for lost, stolen, mangled, misdelivered, illegible, incomplete or late entries.
f. KKHH is not responsible for facsimile transmission errors, illegible entries, telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent transmitting his/her facsimile entry
g. Listeners can enter as often as they’d like and send multiple bills for consideration, but only one bill will be paid per winner.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a. The contest is open to all KKHH listeners who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the greater Houston metropolitan area. Employees of KKHH, its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Houston metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Listeners are eligible to win a KKHH prize valued at $600 or more only once every six (6) months.
c. Winners will be required to sign a liability and publicity release and show a valid government- issued photo identification card and social security card to claim prize.
3. Prizes:
a. A maximum of one hundred fifty five (155) prizes will be awarded. Each prize is up to $1,500 in the form of a check, payable to the winner to pay the winner’s bill. Prize will vary in dollar amount to match the amount of the winner’s bill. The minimum prize amount will be $50, and the maximum will be $1,500. Prizes will be awarded upon confirmation of contest eligibility.
b. KKHH is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. The checks will be mailed to the winner(s) within 75 days of the winner returning his or her Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability Prize Acceptance Form.
c. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, solely at its discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash due to prize unavailability or where required by law. The prizes are expressly limited to the items above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expense. Other restrictions may apply.
4. Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of KKHH management with respect to the contest are final.
b. Fifteen (15) contestants will be selected each Friday at approximately 2 pm from October 10 - November 14, 2008 in a random drawing from all eligible bills received. Those fifteen (15) contestants will be announced the following week, three times each weekday at each of the following times: 8:15, 12:15 and 5;15 pm. Twenty (20) contestants will be selected on Friday, November 21, 2008 at approximately 2 pm in a random drawing from all eligible bills received. Those twenty (20) contestants will be announced the following Monday and Tuesday, ten each weekday at each of the following times: 8:15, 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:15 and 5:15 pm. Thirty (30) contestants will be selected on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at approximately 2 pm in a random drawing from all eligible bills received. Those thirty (30) contestants will be announced the following Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, ten each weekday at each of the following times: 8:15, 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:15 and 5:15 pm. When the contestant hears their name they will have ten (10) minutes to call 713-390-5957 to claim their prize. If the contestant announced does not call back during the specified time, he/she will forfeit the prize. KKHH is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call.
c. The odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of entries received.
d. Winners must listen but need not be present to win.
e. Winners must execute and return any required Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability Prize Acceptance Form within 15 days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will not be selected.
5. Conditions:
a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by the Station in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the prize.
b. By participating in the contest, winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, KKHH in its sole discretion may require contest winners to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold KKHH, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. KKHH, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Station’s website or is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e. KKHH reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
f. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, solely at the discretion of KKHH.
g. KKHH is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
h. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of KKHH, 24 Greenway Plaza, Suite 1900, Houston, TX 77046 or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to KKHH.
